This Privacy Policy explains how WAYFARE collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the WAYFARE mobile application, website at wayfaretrips.com, and related services.
WAYFARE is developed and operated under the trade name Wayfare Labs by Camila González, based in Mexico.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, WAYFARE may process the following categories of information.
Account Information
- email address;
- account/user identifier;
- profile information you choose to provide;
- authentication and account-status information.
Trip Information
- trip names;
- dates;
- destinations;
- trip participants;
- itinerary entries;
- places and locations;
- accommodations;
- flights;
- restaurants;
- activities;
- transportation information;
- reservations;
- travel notes.
Collaborative Information
- invitations;
- voting data;
- proposals;
- comments;
- shared trip information;
- participation and role information.
Financial Planning Information
WAYFARE may process user-entered:
- trip budgets;
- expense records;
- expense splits;
- savings goals and transactions.
These features are planning and organizational tools.
WAYFARE does not process bank-account credentials or full payment-card data merely because you use budgeting or savings features.
User Content
Depending on available features, you may upload or create:
- notes;
- reservation information;
- receipts;
- images;
- attachments;
- packing information;
- other trip-related content.
Location and Place Information
WAYFARE may process locations and destinations that you or other authorized trip participants add to a trip.
This may include:
- place name;
- address;
- latitude and longitude;
- place identifier;
- location category.
If WAYFARE requests access to your device location, that access will be requested through the appropriate Android permission flow and used only for the disclosed feature.
WAYFARE does not collect background device location unless the application explicitly implements and discloses that functionality.
Subscription Information
If you purchase WAYFARE Plus, subscription and entitlement information may be processed through Google Play and RevenueCat.
WAYFARE does not receive your complete payment-card details from Google Play.
2. How We Use Information
WAYFARE uses information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- provide trip-planning features;
- enable collaboration;
- manage invitations;
- display maps and places;
- calculate routes;
- maintain itineraries;
- provide budgets and expense tools;
- provide subscriptions and premium features;
- provide support;
- secure the Service;
- investigate errors and abuse;
- comply with legal obligations.
3. Collaborative Visibility
WAYFARE distinguishes between shared and personal information.
Information inside collaborative trips may be visible to authorized trip participants.
Certain resources are private by default, such as personal savings information, personal packing information, personal expenses, and private notes, unless explicitly shared or otherwise configured.
4. Service Providers
WAYFARE may use service providers to operate the Service. These may include, depending on the current implementation:
Supabase
Used for authentication, database infrastructure, storage and server-side functionality.
Google Maps Platform
Used for maps, places and route-related functionality in the WAYFARE application where those features are enabled.
Google Play
Used for Android application distribution and billing.
RevenueCat
Used to manage subscription entitlements and purchase-related subscription infrastructure.
Firebase
May be used for push notifications if enabled in the current application build.
Vercel
Used to host the WAYFARE website.
These providers process information according to their own terms, privacy policies and contractual arrangements.
5. Legal Bases and Purposes
WAYFARE processes personal information as necessary to:
- provide requested services;
- perform agreements with users;
- manage accounts and subscriptions;
- protect users and the Service;
- comply with applicable law;
- support legitimate operational interests where permitted by law.
Where applicable law requires consent for a specific form of processing, WAYFARE will request it separately.
6. Data Security
WAYFARE uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
These may include:
- encrypted network communication;
- authentication;
- database authorization and Row Level Security;
- server-side protection of privileged credentials;
- restricted access to private resources.
No system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
WAYFARE retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide the Service;
- maintain account functionality;
- satisfy legal obligations;
- resolve disputes;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- protect the Service.
Some shared-trip records may need to be handled differently from individually owned information when other participants still rely on the shared trip.
8. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account through the WAYFARE application or through:
https://wayfaretrips.com/delete-account
Account deletion may remove personal information and individually owned resources.
Certain information may be retained where legally required or reasonably necessary for legitimate purposes such as security, fraud prevention or dispute resolution.
Deleting a WAYFARE account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription.
9. Children's Privacy
WAYFARE is not intended for children under 13.
WAYFARE does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us.
10. International Processing
WAYFARE and its service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence.
Where required, WAYFARE will use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
11. Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to:
- access;
- correct;
- delete or cancel;
- object to certain processing;
- restrict certain uses;
- request information about processing.
Users in Mexico may have rights under applicable Mexican personal-data laws.
Users in other jurisdictions may have additional rights.

WAYFARE may update this Privacy Policy.

Material changes may be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
